But then, I decided to look up some information about this so called "threat". I thought that this year is going to be a passive hurricane season out in Florida, and the rest of the Gulf of Mexico; no big hurricanes, hot and dry like in Texas (which is the exact opposite there), etc. Well, it turns out it can become the hurricane of the year.
Hurricane Bill is at this point a category one hurricane, but, according to the weather channel,
While Tropical Storm Claudette is bringing massive amounts of good wet rain to Alabama (lucky!), Hurricane Bill is intensifying, and tropical storm Ana looms over the basin as a coming threat. Withing 36 hours, we can see what will happen to Bill. The entire country is watching Bill as it may become the next Katrina. There is a chance that Bill could go through rapid intensification in the next 24 to 30 hours. Bill is forecast to become a major hurricane (category three or higher) in about 36 hours.
